Are we Aliens?
Is the soul an Alien on Earth? This intriguing question may seem absurd to some, but to the logical mind, it can very well be something worth pondering. Let me give you some perspectives, and I will let you connect the dots and share your views with me.
Religious Views on the Soul
Many ancient religions believe that the soul is eternal and undergoes reincarnation. In Hinduism, the soul's journey involves ascending to Swarg (Heaven), descending to Narak (Hell), or attaining Moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth) as depicted in early Vedic literature.
In Buddhism, Samsara is the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth driven by ignorance and attachment. Liberation, or Nirvana, is achieved when this cycle is broken. Jainism also emphasizes Samsara, where the soul (Jiva) is reincarnated in various forms based on accumulated karma.
Other religions also speak of realms like Heaven-Hell or Jannat-Jahannum, suggesting that the soul transitions to another world after death. If these beliefs hold true, could it imply that the soul is "alien" to the Earth?
The Scientific Perspective
A renowned geneticist has researched the origins of human DNA, delving into potential extraterrestrial connections through the panspermia hypothesis. This theory suggests that life on Earth might have originated from space, carried by cometary or meteoritic material.
According to his findings, human DNA dates back 9 billion years, predating Earth's formation by 4 billion years, and the age of Earth is calculated to be around 5 billion years. This raises the possibility that human DNA existed elsewhere, suggesting that we may indeed be "alien" to this planet.
Real-Life Experiences
Near-death experiences (NDEs) are profound psychological events reported by individuals who have been close to death. Many describe sensations of their soul leaving their body, traveling through tunnels, or encountering bright lights, often perceived as gateways to the afterlife. Some also report meeting deceased loved ones or spiritual beings.
On the other hand, in the Past Life Regression Therapy (PLRT), people have experienced seeing their soul coming out of the body after death and going to a different realm where they meet other known souls.
These experiences suggest that the soul might travel to a different realm after death, where soul reunite with loved ones. Could this be the "Ultimate Home" for souls, indicating that we are visitors on Earth, temporarily inhabiting bodies before returning home?
